The Secretary of State, in exercise of his powers under section 31(2) of the Petroleum Act 1987(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Petroleum Act 1987 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1987.
2. The provisions of the Petroleum Act 1987 specified in the Schedule hereto shall come into force on 30th June 1987.

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force those provisions of the Petroleum Act 1987 which amend the model clauses of existing and future petroleum licences. The amendments will therefore apply in relation to the chargeable period for petroleum royalties which commences on 1st July 1987, and subsequent chargeable periods.
