MATRIMONIAL CAUSES

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him bysection 47(1)(e) of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984(1) hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Matrimonial and Family ProceedingsAct 1984 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1991.
2. The following provisions of the Matrimonial and Family ProceedingsAct 1984 shall come into force on 14th October 1991:-
(a)sections 40 and 41; and
(b)so much of Schedule 3 as has not already been brought into forceand section 46(3) so far as it relates thereto.

This Order brings into force on 14th October 1991 sections 40 and 41of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984, which empower theLord Chancellor to make Family Proceedings Rules and prescribe (withTreasury consent) the fees which are to be taken in family proceedings.It also brings into force the repeals of the powers to make MatrimonialCauses Rules and regulate fees contained in the Matrimonial Causes Act1973 (c. 18).
