The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 2(6) of the Administration of Justice (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1933(1), hereby makes the following Rules:
1. These Rules may be cited as the Indictments (Procedure)(Amendment) Rules 1992 and shall come into force on 1st October 1992.
2. After rule 5(1)(b) of the Indictments (Procedure) Rules 1971(2) there shall be inserted the following:
"(c)where a notice of transfer has been served under section 53 of the Criminal Justice Act 1991(3) (notices of transfer in certain cases involving children), within a period of 28 days commencing with the date on which notice is served.".

These Rules provide that where notice of transfer is served under section 53 of the Criminal Justice Act 1991 the period within which a bill of indictment is to be preferred shall be a period of 28 days beginning on the date on which notice of transfer is served on the magistrates' court.
