The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraphs 1(1), 5(1)(a)(i) and 8 of Part I of Schedule 1 to the Road Traffic (Driver Licensing and Information Systems) Act 1989(2), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with paragraph 8(4) of that Part of that Schedule, hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Heavy Goods and Public Service Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1st January 1993.
2. Paragraph (1)(a) of regulation 7 (Revocation of licences) of the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Heavy Goods and Public Service Vehicles) Regulations 1990(3) shall be amended by the substitution of "liability to epileptic seizures" for "an epileptic attack since attaining the age of 5 years".

These Regulations amend regulation 7(1)(a) of the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Heavy Goods and Public Service Vehicles) Regulations 1990. An epileptic attack since attaining the age of 5 is no longer a physical disability which is prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 5(1)(a)(i) of Part I of Schedule 1 to the Road Traffic (Driver Licensing and Information Systems) Act 1989. It is replaced by a liability to epileptic seizures.
