CHILDREN AND YOUNG PERSONS

In exercise of the power conferred upon me by section 8(2) of the Children and Young Persons (Protection from Tobacco) Act 1991(1), I hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Children and Young Persons (Protection from Tobacco) Act 1991 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1992.
2. The following provisions of the Children and Young Persons (Protection from Tobacco) Act 1991 shall come into force on 1st March 1992, that is to say- section 1 (amendment of section 7 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1933(2)); section 2 (amendment of section 18 of the Children and Young Persons (Scotland) Act 1937(3)); section 3 (sale of unpackaged cigarettes); section 5 (enforcement action by local authorities in England and Wales); section 6 (enforcement action by local authorities in Scotland); section 7 (expenses); section 8 (short title, commencement, extent etc.), so far as not already in force.

This Order brings into force on 1st March 1992 the provisions of the Children and Young Persons (Protection from Tobacco) Act 1991 mentioned in article 2. Subsections (6) and (7) of section 8 came into force in Northern Ireland on 4th November 1991 (S.I.1991/2500).
