The Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 153(4) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Financial Assistance for Environmental Purposes (No. 4) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 31st December 1995.
2. The following is hereby added to section 153(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 after paragraph (aa)(2):
"(bb)the programme administered by the National Radiological Protection Board for the measurement of radon in premises in England."

This Order varies section 153(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to enable the Secretary of State, with the consent of the Treasury, to give financial assistance to the programme administered by the National Radiological Protection Board for conducting radon measurements in premises in England.
