EDUCATION, ENGLAND

The Education Standards Fund (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2002

  Made 4th July 2002 
  Laid before Parliament 9th July 2002 
  Coming into force 1st August 2002 

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 484, 489 and 569(4) of the Education Act 1996[1] the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement and extent
     1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education Standards Fund (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 1st August 2002.

    
2. The Education Standards Fund (England) Regulations 2002[2] shall be amended as follows.

     3. In regulation 2(1), there shall be inserted after "obtained at least 5 grades A* to C;" -

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations amend the Education Standards Fund (England) Regulations 2002. They add four new purposes to those in Schedule 1 for or in connection with which grant is payable. The new purposes concern the implementation of Behaviour Improvement Programme Plans to improve the attendance and behaviour of pupils; the preparation of plans in respect of PFI projects to support the raising of standards through ICT initiatives; the implementation of Curriculum Online for online access to learning materials for teachers and pupils; and the evaluation of the impact on educational standards and teacher workload of the provision of interactive whiteboards and of ICT equipment generally. These Regulations also make consequential amendments to Regulation 5.
