The A339 Trunk Road (B4640 County Boundary (R. Enborne) to A339 Swan Roundabout and A339 Swan Roundabout to A34/A339 Junction) (Detrunking) Order 2003

  Made 29th April 2003 
  Coming into force 1st June 2003 

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf - 

     1. This Order may be cited as the A339 Trunk Road (B4640 County Boundary (R. Enborne) to A339 Swan Roundabout and A339 Swan Roundabout to A34/A339 Junction) (Detrunking) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 1st June 2003.

     2. In this Order - 

     3. The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies West Berkshire District Council that they will become the highway authority responsible for that length of road.

THE SCHEDULE

LENGTH OF THE TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD


The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated from the B4640 County Boundary (R. Enborne) to its junction with the A339 Swan Roundabout and the A339 Swan Roundabout to points at the back of the nosings on the northbound entry slip road and the southbound exit slip roads from the A34 Newbury Bypass including:

and is shown by broad black dashes on the plan numbered HA 10/OD/400 marked "The A339 (B4640 County Boundary (River Enborne) to A339 Swan Roundabout to A34/A339 Junction) (Detrunking) Order 2003." signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at DfT Records Management Branch, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA.
