TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

The Compromise Agreements (Description of Person) Order 2005

  Made 21st August 2005 
  Laid before Parliament 26th August 2005 
  Coming into force 1st October 2005 

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 67 of, and by sub-paragraph 3(d) of paragraph 2 of Schedule 3A to, the Disability Discrimination Act 1995[1], hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, commencement and interpretation
     1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Compromise Agreements (Description of Person) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 1st October 2005.

    (2) In this Order, "the Act" means the Disability Discrimination Act 1995.

Person Specified
     2. For the purposes of sub-paragraph 3(d) of paragraph 2 of Schedule 3A to the Act, a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives employed by a solicitors' practice is specified.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order extends the category of person validly able to give advice in relation to compromise agreements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 to a Fellow of the Instituteof Legal Executives employed by a solicitors' practice.

Section 67 was amended by the Disability Discrimination Act 2005 (c.13), section 19 and Schedule 1, Part 1, paragraph 33, and sub-paragraph 3(d) of paragraph 2 of Schedule 3A was inserted by the Disability Discrimination Act 2005, section 19 and Schedule 1, Part 1, paragraph 39.back
