HIGHWAYS, ENGLAND

The A419 Trunk Road (Blunsdon Bypass and Slip Roads) Order 2006

  Made 13th June 2006 
  Coming into force 29th June 2006 

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 41 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2]:—

     1. This Order may be cited as the A419 Trunk Road (Blunsdon Bypass and Slip Roads) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 29th June 2006.

    
2. In this Order—

    (1) all measurements of distance are measured along the routes of the relevant highways;

    (2)

     3. The new main road and the slip roads shall become trunk roads from the date when this Order comes into force.

    
4. The centre line of each of the new trunk roads is indicated by a heavy black line on the plan.

    
5. The Secretary of State directs as respects any part of a highway which crosses the route of any of the new trunk roads that—

until, in either case, a date to be specified in a notice given by the Secretary of State to the highway authority for that highway. The date specified will not be later than the date on which the relevant route is opened for traffic.

SCHEDULE 1

ROUTE OF THE NEW MAIN ROAD


The route of the new main road is about 3.26 kilometres (2.03 miles) in length, from a point on the existing A419, marked A on the plan, about 293 metres (320 yards) northeast of its junction with Front Lane, to a point on the A419, marked B on the plan, about 490 metres (536 yards) southwest of the centre of the roundabout at Turnpike Junction, all in the Parish of Blunsdon St Andrew in the Borough of Swindon.
