An application has been made, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 6 to the Planning Act 2008( 1), to the Welsh Ministers in accordance with the Infrastructure Planning (Changes to, and Revocation of, Development Consent Orders) Regulations 2011( 2) for a non-material change to the Glyn Rhonwy Pumped Storage Generating Station Order 2017( 3).
The Welsh Ministers have had regard to the effect of the change on the Glyn Rhonwy Pumped Storage Generating Station Order 2017 as amended and are satisfied that the change is not material.
The Welsh Ministers, having considered the application, the responses to the publicity and consultation required by regulations 6 and 7 of the Infrastructure Planning (Changes to, and Revocation of, Development Consent Orders) Regulations 2011, have decided to make the change proposed in the application.
Accordingly, the Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 2(1) and (9) of Schedule 6 to the Planning Act 2008, make the following Order.
1. The title of this Order is the Glyn Rhonwy Pumped Storage Generating Station (Amendment) (Wales) Order 2024 and it comes into force on 2 February 2024.
2.—(1) The Glyn Rhonwy Pumped Storage Generating Station Order 2017 (“ the 2017 Order”) is amended as follows.
(2) For paragraph 2 of Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the 2017 Order substitute “The authorised development must be commenced no later than 29 March 2026.”.

This Order amends the Glyn Rhonwy Pumped Storage Generating Station Order 2017, a development consent order under the Planning Act 2008, following an application made in accordance with the Infrastructure Planning (Changes to, and Revocation of, Development Consent Orders) Regulations 2011 for a non-material amendment under paragraph 2 of Schedule 6 to the Planning Act 2008. This Order amends the time limit within which the development authorised by the Order must be commenced.
2008 c. 29. Paragraph 2 was amended by paragraph 4 of Schedule 8 to the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 (c. 23), by paragraphs 1 and 72 of Schedule 13 of the Localism Act 2011 (c. 20), by section 28 of the Infrastructure Act 2015 (c. 7), and by paragraph 8(3) of Schedule 7 to the Wales Act 2017 (c. 4).
S.I. 2011/2055. Relevant amendments to this instrument were made by S.I. 2012/635, and S.I. 2015/760. There have been other amendments which are not relevant to this instrument.
