AN ACT TO EXTEND FOR TWELVE MONTHS THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 2 of THE TRADE UNION ACT, 1947 , AND TO PROVIDE FOR OTHER MATTERS CONNECTED THEREWITH.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS:—

1.—In this Act, the expression "the Act of 1947" means the Trade Union Act, 1947 (No. 17 of 1947).

2.—Section 2 of the Act of 1947 it hereby amended by the substitution, for references to the period of twelve months commencing on the passing of that Act, of references to the period commencing on such passing and ending on the 8th day of July, 1949.

3.—Every order—

(a) made under subsection (1) of section 2, or continued in force by section 3, of the Act of 1947, and

(b) in force on the 8th day of July, 1948.

shall continue in force until the 8th day of July, 1949, unless previously revoked.

4.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Trade Union Act, 1948 .

(2) This Act and the Trade Union Acts, 1871 to 1947, may be cited together as the Trade Union Acts, 1871 to 1948.
