AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE INCREASE OF THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF THE LIMERICK CITY COUNCIL FROM FIFTEEN TO SEVENTEEN. |

BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS:— |

Interpretation. |
1.—(1) In this Act, the expression "the Principal Act" means the Limerick City Management Act, 1934 (No. 35 of 1934). |

(2) This Act shall be construed as one with the Principal Act. |

Increase of number of members of the Council. |
2.—(1) The Council shall, on and after the ordinary day of retirement of members thereof next after the passing of this Act, consist of seventeen members and that number of members shall accordingly be elected at every election of members of the Council held after the passing of this Act. |

(2) Subsection (2) of section 5 of the Principal Act shall be repealed on the ordinary day of retirement of members of the Council next after the passing of this Act. |

Short title and collective citation. |
3.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Limerick City Management Act, 1950 . |
|
(2) The Principal Act and this Act may be cited together as the Limerick City Management Acts, 1934 and 1950. |
