Diseases of Animals Act 1966 (Section 54) (Exemption) Order 2002

I, Liam Aylward, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 54 of No. 6 of 1966 ) and the Agriculture and Food (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 409 of 2002 ) (as adapted by the Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 306 of 2002 )), hereby orders as follows:-

1.         This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals Act 1966 (Section 54) (Exemption) Order 2002.

2.          S.I. No. 217 of 1967 ) is amended, in Article 4, by the insertion after paragraph (b) of --

“(bb)    an animal that is being sold, with the written consent of an inspector, to alleviate a serious welfare problem in a herd,”
