CONSTABULARY AND POLICE (IRELAND) ACT 1918 - SECT 8

8. In this Act unless the context otherwise requires

The expression "police authority" means in the case of the Royal Irish
Constabulary the Inspector-General ...; and

The expression "constable" includes any head constable major, head constable,
sergeant, acting sergeant and constable of the Royal Irish Constabulary ...
