A general register office to be provided in Belfast. 56. The registrar general shall send once in every year to the lord lieutenant, who shall forthwith transmit the same to one of the principal secretaries of state, a general abstract of the number of marriages registered during the foregoing year, in such form as the said secretary from time to time shall require; and every such annual general abstract shall be laid before Parliament within one calendar month after receipt thereof, or, if Parliament be not then sitting, within one calendar month after the next meeting of Parliament.
